Whinging & whining all day long is not a breed tra Whinging & whining all day long is not a breed trait
Destroying the house is not a breed trait
Stealing & guarding random items is not a breed trait
Toileting inside is not a breed trait
Demand barking is not a breed trait
Barging through doorways and dragging you around are not breed traits

See what I’m saying? Nuisance behaviours ARE NOT breed traits.

Leave that breed group on Facebook and check your facts!

Some breeds lean more towards possession and some even lean more towards vocalising, but I can confirm the behaviours mentioned above are, one last time, NOT breed traits!

Do not enable them; eliminate them.

I wasn’t sure whether to write this post… but I wasn’t sure whether to write this post… but I couldnt introduce the other dogs and not say something about Ava.

Ava was (I’ve started this sentence multiple times - I don’t know how to begin!) genuinely the most incredible dog we’ve ever had the privilege of owning and will ever own - she was a dual purpose drug detection dog and travelled up & down the country with me keeping the naughty stuff out of events, she had better advanced obedience than any of our other dogs put together, she had a divine temperament, she had endless & insatiable drive (I think she was 50% Duracell bunny 🔋), she was beautiful & fit, she was clever (but also exceptionally goofy), she was an asset to our business - the list goes on.

Ava died nearly a year ago today in tragic, unexpected, traumatic circumstances and I still don’t know how to live life without her. I’m not writing this post for sympathy - I’m writing it because I introduced the other dogs as I said and not talking about Ava would be a discredit to the service she provided our little business; many of your dogs will have spent time with her.

I hadn’t said anything previously about losing Ava because childishly if I confirm it in this way, it must be true.

Ava, whilst yet another evening passes with me teary because I know you won’t be there to greet me in the morning, THANK YOU for your years as a stooge for our business, your many hours on backshift at festivals etc, and most importantly your constant friendship.

I am the handler I am today because of Ava, and many dogs have a new start because of Ava.

There’s not much I wouldn’t give to be smacked in the face with that tail/have a ball presented hopefully at my feet one last time.

We love you forever, sweet girl x
Meet our dogs! Gus is a 3 year old cocker spanie Meet our dogs!

Gus is a 3 year old cocker spaniel from show lines. He enjoys watching the world go by at a cafe, snuggling on the sofa in the evenings and, most of all, following a scent on walks - typical spaniel!

His scent drive is extremely strong - Gus has been conditioned to an E collar so that he can enjoy off-leash freedom safely. There’s no way he could be off the lead in a field without his remote collar.

Gus loves people & attention, but knows when to put these feelings aside. He’s pretty neutral to dogs, but he’ll play with Hannya & Nina 😁

Gus belongs to Bella’s parents, but he’s always out with us, and our members have probably seen him on our private pack walks 🤓
Meet our dogs! Nina is 4.5 years old, from worki Meet our dogs!

Nina is 4.5 years old, from working lines, and is an absolute magnet for mud, animal poo & general filth 😂

She’s our sportiest and most powerful dog, but she’s also our goofiest dog. She’s very puppy-like and silly.

Nina is wary of new people, so she’ll never be the dog you can take to family BBQs where any number of new people will want to pet her, but she has exemplary functional obedience and she’s great at helping nervous dogs come out of their shells. She loves puppies, and I genuinely believe she has a favourite breed of dog - spaniels!

If Nina isn’t belly-deep in a puddle, she’s probably charging around after her ball or sprinting for no good reason.
Meet our dogs! Hannya is another German Shepherd Meet our dogs!

Hannya is another German Shepherd - she’s from working lines, she’s recently turned 5 years old, and she’s more active than Panzer.

She’s the apple of Adam’s eye and vice versa - those who have worked with us already will probably have seen Hannya joyfully giving demonstrations.

Hannya is super friendly (as @janehogg2 knows 👅) and sociable, but is also able to be neutral when the situation asks for it. She too is another excellent stooge.

She’s a lot sillier & merrier than Panzer, but she can lean towards worry in specific situations to do with advanced obedience.
The reason we’re sharing this is that we’re not normal dog trainers you see online who pretend their dogs are flawless and 10/10 at everything - we’ll always be realistic with you 🤝🏻

Hannya is a very fun dog who loves to bounce around and to be silly with a ball, but she can turn on when you need 💥
Meet our dogs! Panzer a.k.a. The Queen is 6 this Meet our dogs!

Panzer a.k.a. The Queen is 6 this year, half working/half show lines, and I genuinely cannot fault her temperament! She is incredibly stable & neutral, tolerant of everyone and is generally a super easy dog, certainly the easiest of our gang.

Panzer is however exceptionally greedy to the point where impulse control needs to be managed - this is due to her having a condition called EPI (common in shepherds) whereby her pancreas does not function correctly and requires daily medication. She doesn’t metabolise food well and believes herself to be starving! Thankfully we’re on top of this now, but the toll it takes on the body is large, leaving Panzer with a sensitive gut overall.

Panzer loves a ball, she’s a super reliable stooge dog, and will gladly make herself at home anywhere 😂
